What issues does the coke oven flue damper valve address within the coking industry?

Coking plants typically operate desulphurisation, denitrification and dust removal fans without halting coke oven production, subsequently closing the flue gas valves to divert all exhaust gases to the decoking oven. Flue gases are shared via the chimney. Due to prolonged exposure to high temperatures, flue valves may suffer structural deformation, sticking, or inflexible switching. Flue gases from the desulphurisation and denitrification fan outlet may then reverse flow through incompletely closed coke oven flue gate valves back to the inlet. This causes flue gas short-circuiting, insufficient intake into the coke oven, and the safety hazard of incompletely combusted gas entering the flue. The coke oven duct gate valve is positioned externally to the duct. When open, it remains unaffected by flue gas corrosion, thereby extending its service life. Its dual-seal configuration combines metal hard sealing with graphite soft sealing, effectively isolating both internal and external flue gas leakage. Employing electro-hydraulic drive, it delivers substantial thrust and pull force, eliminating the risk of sticking. The coke oven flue gate valve resolves previous issues such as inflexible closure, jamming, high-temperature deformation, short service life, and poor sealing. It maintains the coke oven's temperature while eliminating safety hazards.

Without a flue gas desulphurisation and denitrification system, waste gases from coke oven combustion are collected via auxiliary flues on both sides of the oven into the main flue before discharge. The chimney connects to the main flue. When integrated with a desulphurisation and denitrification system, two openings are created on the main flue: one as an air inlet, and one as a return air inlet. A coke oven duct damper valve is installed between these two openings to separate the chimney and duct. A circulating fan draws flue gas from the main duct inlet, treats it through the desulphurisation and denitrification system, and then directs it through the return air inlet before expelling it via the coke oven chimney.
